no answers yet…but it looks like pericarditis

I was in spinning class when it came on - a regular activity for me, 31 year old female. I was frightened at the sudden lightning bolt in my chest. I reduced my intensity immediately and sat on the bike for the rest of the class, holding my chest, and waiting for this alarming sensation to go away. Later that night, as I was reading in bed, a duller version of this same crushing chest pain returned and increased in intensity until I couldn’t sleep. Breathing brought on the worst pain. I waited for 9 hours in emerg and the pain increased. I begged for tylenol which effectively kept the pain at bay for 3 hours at a time. When I was finally seen by a doctor (and blood clot, cardiac arrest and reflux were ruled out) they just perscribed a powerful anti-inflamatory called naproxen and said goodbye. I followed up with my doc, who booked me to see a cardiologist to get an ‘echo’ test. This is funny to me because I’m in the midst of buying my first car - a Toyota echo. After doing some reading, I sure hope that I have the acute version caused by a virus and that only takes 1-3 weeks to clear up. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for all of you….
