Pericarditis

I have been dealing with pericarditis since May. Actually, I believe I had a first episode in March when I woke up with very severe chest pain radiating through to my back. It quickly progressed to vomiting, fever and aches. I thought I had the “flu”. A few days later I was completely recovered.
In May I began having shortness of breath and chest pain when walking for exercise. Went to the doctor, had cardiac workup and the ultrasound revealed a small pericarditis Was treated with steroids(Medrol dose pack)–to no avail. Then placed on Indocin–to know avail.
Got a rheumatoid workup–all glaringly normal.
Had a CT angiogram–confirmed a small area of pericarditis.
Am now on the COPE pericarditis study medication regime of Aspirin and colchesine. Have had very good results until the aspirin got reduced. Now I am slightly more symptomatic. Noticed some shortness of breath when I tried the treadmill. Am still hopeful this will resolve.
By the way–it is now the end of August.
