She made me realise that a lot of people are probably very anxious about one of their relatives getting a pacemaker so when i came across this site i thought i would tell you about me experience! Except for the operations and the check-ups which take place once a year, and the fact that it is advised for me not to go under the metal detectors in the airports i normally forget that i have a pacemaker at all! i can do absolutely everthing my friends do and had i not told them they would not have known i had a pacemaker either! I am head girl of my school, and play all the sports on offer with absolutely no problem. My pacemaker is constantly working since my heart’s natural beat is of only 30 beats per second. Last year when i was at the hospital for a check-up i remember a lady telling the doctor that if her daughter got a pacemaker no one would want to marry her- that is definitely not something that ever crossed my mind! If i dont get married it would be because i dont want to or because of other reasons, but definitely not because of my pacemaker which you can hardly even see! Comments
