18 year old with Mitral Valve Regurgitation

My name is Alex and am currently going to school. I am 18 years old, 5′6, and about 115 pounds. I would consider myself to be very athletic. I love to run and stay healthy. When I was 14 I had mono. I went to the doctors to get checked up to see if I was over the mono yet and the doctor listened to my heart. He was amazed because he had been my family doctor ever since I was born. He asked me, “are you on any street drugs?!” I said NO!! haha.. anyways he heard a heart murmur so he sent me to Mercy in Sioux city Iowa. They found out I have Mitral Valve Regurgitations as well as an aneurysm on my left ventricle. I am very scared because now that i am about 19 years old its getting worse. I have become extremely tired always, I am always cold (if that has anything to do with it), and it gets me so frustrated because i’m trying to balance school and my health at the same time. I try to run my four miles a day but its getting harder. I know i will need valve replacement surgery soon and that scares me too because if i get a mechanical one then i will have to be on blood thinner and i want to have a baby when i get older. But then a pig vavle doesnt last very long. Im so frustrated. And its so wierd because at times i don’t believe i have anything wrong with me.
