Coping With Heart Attack

Before you read i do appologise for this been long and id probably be thinking the same as you are right now which is forget this and skip to the next,shorter story. But if youve made it this far then thank you my name is Matthew im 26 and on the 21st May 2007 i had gone to bed around 10pm and as i lay there before sleeping i got a feeling in my chest that i self diagnosed as heartburn or indegestion and didnt think anything about it and continued trying to sleep soon the feeling went away so i didnt worry or panic, a short time later the same feeling came back i sat up and a feeling of dizziness and sickness came over me thinking that it may be because id sat up too quickly and got the blood to the head rush feeling this passed so went to the bathroom to vomit after vomiting i got a drink of water and sat in a chair to ease the feeling of anxiety i was experiencing this gradually got worse and i became very short of breath and sweaty and my chest begame tighter and it hurt to breath so i woke my friend and asked them to phone a health care advice line for me as i was finding it difficult to breath and talk my friend answered all thier questions to which they sent out an ambulance inthe ambulance they did the E.C.G and other tests and said i was having a heart attack but because the chest pains kept coming and going they were unsure so took me to my local hospital to get a second opinion and observe me the doctor there couldnt find anything wrong and was ready to discharge me when the pain came back so i told the doctor he did another E.C.G and made the quick decision to give me morphine and rush me off to another hospital in another city for a angiogram where they found 3 blockages in my main artery to my heart and removed them and placed a stent in the collapsed artery at the time of my heart attack i was 25 i believe ive been lucky and been given a second chance to life my life as i know and heard of so many people dear to me who have died from heart attacks and would advise anyone with any type of pain of the chest no matter how small or severe to get it checked out or any of the other symptoms associated with what could be a heart attack and can anyone give me any advice on wether they think im doing the right thing by the choices im making or wether im been selfish as now ive re evaluated my life i dont want to waste it like i had been doing i want to do all the things i can whilst i can such as travel,study/become better educated spend the time that we put of till tomorrow because we think we have all the time in the world with friends and family as i fear if this happens again i may not be so lucky? but the doctors and certain people dont seem to listen about how im feeling or supporting me in my chioces so if anyone can advise me on who to speak to and what to do if they have experienced similar to this as i feel the best people to help or offer advice are people like ourselfs who have suffered similar. thank you for reading this and for your time xxx
