To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download FMD - Kidneys I just had an Renal Angiography on Sept. 25, 2008 because I had began (8 months ago) having high blood pressure Now I did not act on this until a 3rd doctor visit (with different doctors). I realized that my blood pressure was indeed elevated and wasn’t going down. I shouldn’t have waited so long. I have never had anything wrong with my blood pressure before. My doctor had me go through a series of blood tests, EKG and a MRA and that is when they found a narrowing in one of my arteries to my kidneys. I was set up for a Renal Angiography within 2 week. The procedure was about 2 hrs. long and recovery was 6 hrs. I was home by 6:00 that evening. I will be taking Plavix for about 6 month. I will be seeing my family doctor within the next week or so to see how my blood pressure is. I had never heard of FMD until the radiologist who was doing the procedure mentioned it. After talking with him about FMD briefly, I felt I need more information. Now that I have read a bit about FMD I am wondering how will I know that it is not in any of my other arteries? A question I will be asking my doctor at this next visit. September 2008
