To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download FMD found after TIA and Surgery I am 44 years old and 126 ibls 5′5″ tall. March 30th 2007 on my son’s birthday I experienced what I thought was my first migrane headache. I went to the hospital 5 days later when I finally admitted I was not getting any better. I noticed that one eye lids was changing shape and my pupil in that eye was not the same size as the other eye. After a great deal of testing I was diagnosed as having a TIA and horners syndrom. I was blessed to find myself in the hands of a wonderful surgeon He operated on me and put 2 stents in my right carotid artery. It turned out that a 5-6 inch area of artery was disected. In the center of the disection a Pseudo aneurism that was growing. The surgery was a success. My doctor is a pioneer in the carotid stent surgery. A year later I went for my one year check up angiogram. I expected to hear that I was good to go. I was shocked to learn that I have FMD. The good news is there is presently no stenosis. The FMD is in my bi-lateral carotid and my renal arteries. It appears to only be on the exteral area of the artery. I am in the very beginning stages of discovering what this means to my and my future. I have a a history of inner ear problems and sleep apnea. I attributed so much of what I now realize are symptoms of FMD to these diagnosis’. The blood thinner’s that I stopped taking 6 weeks ago are still make my hair fall out. I am wondering if I am going to go bald Has anyone had this experience? My biggest question to everyone is. What can I expect? Has anyone had a similar experience and how are you today? Comments
