My mother had a stroke

by: Mariah on Tue, Apr 29 2008

On Christmas 2000 my mother was a heathy women at the age of 52 years old. She never had any signs of FMD or complained of pain in her neck. On Jan 1st 2001 my mother had a stroke due to FMD. We rushed her to the hospital and saved her life. She was then tested and told she had FMD. We were all shell shocked!! This stroke was a severe one and has affected her life dramatically. She is not the same person but I still wouldn’t trade her for the world. Her DR. told me(her only daughter) to get tested for FMD and to be on the safe side not to take medicine with hormones. I am 25 years old and am about to get tested for FMD. I’m a little scared but glad that I may be able to stop a stroke from happening with me.
