My mom has high blood pressure, and her cholesterol just slightly high. About 1 week ago she was sleeping and a severe chest pain woke her up, the pain was on her chest, left arm, side of her neck and jaw. We immediately called 911 and when the paramedics got here they took her blood pressure which was high 175/100, they gave her 2 aspirin to chew, then when we got to the hospital she was still having chest pain and they gave her 2 nitrogylcerin and it dropped her pressure down to 50/24!! They immediately put something in her IV to bring it up. In the hospital they did several EKGs, stress test and blood work to check if it had been a heart attack and everything came out normal and she got sent home 1 day later but was diagnosed with unstable angina.

I am really nervous and paranoid because I have heard that unstable angina can mean a heart attack could happen soon. Does anyone else have unstable angina?? If so, how long have you lived with it? She is still taking her blood pressure meds and 1 aspirin daily and also on lovastatin to lower her cholesterol. I am so nervous and think she will have a massive heart attack any day.
