Coping With Atrial Fibrillation

I want to share my experience with others suffering AFib and ask if this experience is similar to anyone else. In October 2006 I first experienced AFib After Coumadin and Lovenox for almost 2 months I had a cardioversion. I kept up with the drugs for 6 months, during which time I went in and out of AFib 2 other times.

My insurance ran out and I stopped the drugs and simply took a multivitamin and an aspirin a day. Five months later when I ran out of my multivitamins and neglected to get more, I had another AFib. When I replaced the multivitamins the last time, I changed brands. After over a week I did not feel better, the AFib didn’t stop, so I read the contents of the new multivitamins, the only difference was that the new multivitamin had no Magnesium (16% rda, as apposed to 125% in the last brand).

A web search found one article describing a mans experience with Magnesium ending AFib. When I started taking a Magnesium supplement the AFib ended in less that 40 hours.

The most troubling thing about this experience is that not one doctor mentioned this simple solution. Has anyone else any experience with Magnesium? Has anyone been given the advise to take a Multivitamin with Magnesium from a doctor?

My only concern is a web search cautioning the overuse of Magnesium. I’m going to get a Multivitamin with Magnesium the next time I run out. I hope this simple information helps others.
